Military dog tags dimensions are 1 1/8 x 2 inches:
Dog tags are .4mm stainless steel with a 1/16" rolled edge and an 1/8" attachment hole at one end.
Official military dog tag information is generally displayed in the following order:
- LAST NAME
- FIRST NAME / MIDDLE INITIAL
- SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER
- BLOOD TYPE
- RELIGION

The first tag is suspended on the longer necklace chain which is approximately 24" in length.
The second tag is suspended on the shorter extension (4" chain) so it hangs no further than 2 1/2" under the first one.
Silencers (a rubber cover for the dog tag), are used to prevent clanking of the metal dog tags.
Because of the size of these dog tags they
may not be suitable for some "toy" sized dogs or cats. These dog tags
make great pet tags because the text is deeply stamped and will not rub off
in time like most pet store engraved dog tags. They can be ordered on our

and come complete with dog tag silencers in your choice of colors and a
'S'-Hook or Split Ring to attach to the collar.

When we receive an ONLINE order with payment, your metal dog tags are
generally made and shipped the next business day. Dog tags are shipped by
U.S. Mail and will normally arrive anywhere within the continental U.S. within a
week.
We have found that shipments mailed to Canada can take up to 2 weeks to arrive tax and duty free. See Shipping Costs for details on Duty-free and tax-exempt importations.
Orders by MAIL, which have the longest delay, can take a week to arrive here
and another week to be shipped back.
